Home value is not just about the physical structure of your home. It's also about the amount of work you put into it. When it comes to home renovation, DIY projects are always a great idea.

There are many ways in which you can give your property a facelift without hiring professional contractors or spending a fortune on renovations. And as the Equity Master, I know what projects can go a long way. Here are a few examples of these DIY projects that can be done by anyone with basic knowledge and skills.

DIY your Space to Increase its Value

Interior DIYs

1. Walls Freshen Up: With a little elbow grease, you can make your walls look like new again. It is a tedious process, but it will be worth it in the end.

The first step is to clean the wall with a damp cloth, then apply some wallpaper paste on the wall and let it dry. After that, use a roller to apply paint or primer onto the wall and let it dry. You can also use paper towels to remove any excess paint or primer that may have been left on your walls.

If you want to add more color to your walls, you can paint them with fresh colors or even distress them for an old-fashioned look!

2. Update Fixtures: When it comes to decorating your home, you want your space to look great, but you also want it to be easy and low maintenance. If you're looking for a way to spruce up your home without sacrificing function or style, try doing some DIY.

3. Windows: If you have blinds in your windows, chances are that they are vertical plastic blinds, paper shades, or horizontal aluminum blinds. These types of blinds may not add the wow factor that you want for your home. If you are trying to add value to your home, consider replacing the old blinds with plantation shutters, wooden blinds, or drapes with neutral options that can help you get a better price for your home.

Bathroom DIYs

1. Bathroom Floor: If you are looking for a new way to add value to your home, DIY your bathroom floor. You can use this method to create a unique and interesting design that reflects your personality. So, if you want to make your bathroom floor look more beautiful, consider opting for a neutral-colored tile as it will add the most value.

2. Update Fixtures: Replacing older fixtures with new ones is a great way to improve the look of your bathroom. It can also help you save money in the long run. Replacing old fixtures with new ones doesn't always have to be expensive either.

Kitchen DIYs

1. Paint the cabinets: you can go for prefabricated cabinets. With the rise of prefabricated cabinets, homeowners can save a lot of money in the long run. It is also easier to save on your building budget by installing prefabricated cabinets rather than custom ones.

2. Cabinet knobs and drawer handles: this is the easiest of all. All you need is a sense of creativity - this could go a long way! Just purchase some chic yet elegant knobs and drawer handles and replace them with the old ones. And there’s you, adding value to your home! A doorknob can be a great way to update your kitchen without spending too much money. It's surprising how something as simple as a doorknob can make your kitchen look cheap or dated.
